  Schleswig-Holstein
    Capital: Kiel
    Area: 20,455km2
    Population: 2.75 million

You can swim in two different seas on a single day when visiting the "Northern Lights". The North Sea and the Baltic Sea are only separated from each other by 65 kilometers in the northern part of the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein. In the modern spas along the coastline, long and dreamy sand beaches are waiting for you along with numerous enjoyable activities. Excitement can also be discovered inland. Besides the uniqueness of nature to be found in Schleswig-Holstein, the versatile countryside culture must simply be experienced. Let yourself be surprised in the countryside between two seas.

Schlesweg-Holstein is primarily an area of land that ages ago was created by Ice Age glaciers. The soil, pushed from Scandinavia, is somewhat stony and 300 feet deep in certain areas. Without the existence of this landmass, the North Sea and Baltic would be combined in one huge waterway. This area of land is diverse and interesting. Along the Baltic coast are fjords cutting inland and on the western side, the coastline is soft consisting of mudflats and marshes. This region is secured by heavy dykes.

Northeastern city of Flensburg was under Danish rule for 400 years and today is well known for old market squares and romanticly set courtyards graced with elaborate facades
Breathe deeply, feel simply good.
